BY BECKY

TOP FUEL WINNER
SCOTT "HOTROD" BENNETT
Texas Motorcycle Drag Racing ventured over to the Alamo on a grand Sunday, April 13, 2008, at the San Antonio Raceway at Marion, Texas. This was a prime quarter mile track that can produce some great numbers from great racers.

I want to BIG THANK my gracious sponsor, Mike Lozano, of Lozano Brothers Porting out of Cibolo, TX. Plus a thank-you to my other sponsors, Skunk Dots Biker News Magazine, Fas Coonass Racing, and TMFC Racing Team of Texas.

The Nitro Harley Top Fuel winner of the day was the undisputed champion for a 2nd time – “Hotrod” Scott Bennett of Rowlett, TX. He’s sponsored by Nungesser Engineering, Amsoil, EnergyOne Clutches, and Maxxis Machine. Hotrod’s crew chief is Mr. Captain Chrome Paul Jones, Craig Butler, and Eric Hitt. I want to thank Nitro Harley Top Fueler John Dunlevy of Torture Tested Racing out of San Antonio for showing- John was runner-up at my March 9th event in Houston. Also, Metalcraft Racing’s Hal Cort of Houston. He’s sponsored by Metalcraft Fabrication and American Heliarc Welding. His crew chief is Tom Young of American Heliarc of Houston.

Lozano Brother’s Porting Mike Lozano of Cibolo, TX on his Pro Stock Harley had the best lowest et and the highest mph for the day – ET 7.3118 at 181.45 mph. Mike has won twice the Pro Stock National Championships with the AHDRA. He’s sponsored by Lozano Bros. Porting, Dumor Enterprises, Mac Tools, and Redline Oil. Mike especially wants to thank his crew members: Bobby Hargroder and Connie Lozano.

The Top Gas seen quite a few Harley Destroyers but the “Tool Man” was victorious. Ft. Worth’s Bruce “Tool Man” Beltramini is sponsored by Lozano Bro. Porting, Cornwell Tools, and Cowtown Custom.

KING of the CASH WINNER
Pat Cole of Bryan, Texas

MIXED-BIKE BRACKET A 12.99 ET & DOWN WINNER
JP Racing’s Mario Benavidez of San Antonio.

MIXED-BIKE BRACKET B 13.00 ET & UP WINNER
Renie “Sleepy” Carrizales of Waco who’s sponsored by Benny’s Hog Shed, Vortez, and Sambos & Smokin’ Ray’s Lost Tavern.
The King of the Cash is where we take the winner of each heads-up trophy class and perform a dial-in run-off until we have the last racer standing – namely the King of the Cash.

The last four duos saw some mighty vicious fighting for the cash. The first to the last to duke it out was the JJ Class Renie Carrizales of Waco who’s sponsored by Benny’s Hog Shed, Vortez, and Sambo’s and Smokin’ Ray’s Tavern. He was pitted San Antonio’s Mario Benavidez who’s sponsored by Cricket Cell Phones. Renie had a dial-in of 13.00 and Mario’s was 9.42. This where the racer closest to his dial-in without going over wins this round. Renie triumped.

TOP GAS WINNER
BRUCE "TOOL MAN" BELTRAMINI
REPUBLIC H-D RACERS The last duo was Pat Cole of Bryan, TX who’s sponsored by Double Vision versus F.A.R.B. Racing’s Doug “Buzzard” Meador of Rockport, TX. Buzzard ever since arriving on the track, was wrenching and carrying on with his motor. Mr. Captain Chrome Paul Jones of Dallas actually hand delivered the needed part. Buzzard wasn’t able to take the practice laps but he made his class eliminations – look where he’s at now – biding for King of the Cash. Pat prevailed the victor over this match.
Now we’re down to the final match for the prestige King of the Cash and of course the cash!! Final round -Renie “Sleepy” Carrizales versus Pat Cole. This is what everyone was waiting to see …and win!! Pat Cole became the happy racer – King of the Cash!! This was Pat’s first time ever winning money on a motorcycle and he has been racing for twenty years I know of. Of course, he’s always won trophies but I was the first to hand him both!!
